6 Major Bombshells Revealed In Abbie Chatfield’s Interview With Little Bachelor Matt Agnew

This week Abbie Chatfield she sat down with her former flame on licensee, Dr. Matt Agnew in a special two-part episode of her podcast It’s a lot to unpack what really happened during their reality TV romance.

All the revelations from Abbie Chatfield’s podcast with Dr. Matt Agnew

From mean contestants and villain edits to what Matt thinks about Abbie’s current relationship, the pair have a lot of tea on the podcast.

Let’s dive in.

The Gemini Clip: A Cosmic Misunderstanding

The two jumped right into discussing the infamous “I’m Gemini” clip that went viral, confirming that the clip was completely taken out of context.

Abbie asks, “Can we just confirm now that it was edited?”

Matt chimes in and says, “100 percent. And I came out and I kept saying that since the first interviews, I was coming out and clarifying that it’s a joke that you were ending me. It landed perfectly and we had a good laugh about it.”

Apparently, the iconic line followed Matt, with him saying, “I’m on dating apps and the value where the opening line is, ‘Oh, by the way, I’m Leo. By the way. I’m a…” like that’s their opening and I’m like, “Oh shit, that’s original. I’ve never had anyone do that before!’”

Editing the Villain: The Real Story Behind the Drama

Unfortunately for Abbie, she actually got the villain edit on her season licensee. She said: “All these things I was saying to these girls were getting used then. As I told them I miscarried, then it was “Abbie doesn’t want kids.” That was the takeaway from that. You know what i mean?”

Abbie even spoke about the pressure she felt from the other contestants: “You know the girls [tried] to force myself to tell you that I’m bisexual. Did I tell you that?”

Matt didn’t take the breakup lightly

When it came to their split live, Matt admitted it was hard for both of them. “It was a shitty experience,” he said, and honestly, who can blame him? That random clifftop breakup in South Africa legitimately makes my heart ache every time I think about it.

He continues: “I think it’s an intense situation for all parties. And to have to do that and literally stand there in front of the camera knowing that I’m about to really hurt someone that I care about was just shit.”

Catching up after a breakup

Fast forward six months, and they’ve finally caught up to clear the air — which is the most mature move from exes, I could never.

Abbie thought Matt hated her, which is a classic case of reality TV miscommunication. Matt replied, “I hate that you had to carry that idea. There was never any animosity from me.”

For anyone who was hoping the two would rekindle after the show, you’re in luck. They literally laughed about how nothing romantic happened off-camera, with Abbie joking that the whole conspiracy was very “funny.”

Matt and Abbie are still very much in touch

In the second episode of the two-part series, Matt dives into his new children’s book, My phone reads my mind. The book examines “the real facts about artificial intelligence.”

It’s clear the exes are on very good terms, with Abbie gushing: ‘The thing that everyone loves at the moment, but she also loves Matt licensee is that if you have a question about science, literally anything. He has an amazing way of explaining it as if you were a child.”

Abbie keeps in touch with Matt for his scientific knowledge, sharing, “Matt has an amazing way of explaining. I think I texted you once and said, “What’s the wind?”

What does Matt think of Abbie’s current boyfriend?

Turns out Matt met Abbie’s current boyfriend Adam Hydeone half of Australian electro duo Peking Duk. The former Bachelor was honestly so sweet when he said, “I’ve never felt less cool because this is like the coolest person I’ve ever met.” I would feel the exact same way about dating someone dating Abbie Chatfield TBH.

Apparently Adam was also feeling the bromance vibes and called Matt “a sick bastard,” which according to Abbie is the highest compliment you can get from her boyfriend.

So here it is. Abbie and Matt’s reunion was incredibly healthy and gave me hope that one day I’ll be chatting with my ex on a podcast, but I can’t promise it’ll be as nice.
